At the 1995 West Coast Steel Guitar Show

Herb Remington and the band

This picture shows western swing legend Herb Remington and most of Larry Murphy's excellent house band (the drummer is hidden behind Herb). In addition to performing his requisite Bob Wills hits, Herb gave the band a real workout on standards like Night Life and Watch What Happens, and entertained us all with stories of the Texas Playboys on the road.

In the foreground on this shot is an antique double-8 ElectraHarp with six pedals. Marc Freed of Music World was trying to sell this guitar, "no offer refused". No takers either, apparently - I saw him pack the thing back to his van at the end of the day.
