Strings & instruction for lap steel, Hawaiian and pedal steel guitars

Many years ago I had the honor of serving as the editor of The Pedal Press, the official publication of a small steel guitar club called Steel Guitar West. We published an 8 page newsletter monthly for about 4 years, from 1978 through 1982, and then the club fell apart from a lack of organizational energy.

Some of the material we published was timely, but much of it is solid steel guitar information that's as valid today as it was 15 years ago. I toyed with the idea of turning the relevant articles into HTML to republish them, but eventually decided that the best course would be to scan complete issues and post them to the web. This way everyone can browse through them as I do from time to time, enjoying the sense of history and friendship as well as all the technical stuff.

Each page is a GIF image file wrapped in HTML with links to the other pages from that issue and a link back to this index. Clicking on the scanned image takes you directly to the next page of the newsletter. The single page GIF images range from 25k to 50k in size - not huge, but they do take a bit of time to grab with a modem connection. I think you'll find most of them worth the wait.
