At the 1995 West Coast Steel Guitar Show

Blinded by the beauty of the guitar, I managed to cut off the top of Blackie's head.

Blackie Taylor was helping Gene Fields sell his GFI guitars. I tried to get a photo of GFI's new gearless unit, but my camera couldn't focus closely enough. Look for it if you go to the St. Louis show this year.

I also missed getting a picture of Gene's personal instrument, which has a fretted front neck that he plays with his fingers instead of a bar. Gene demonstrated this technique when he performed on Sunday. Fascinating!
